Randel Loomes (1736 - 1805)
In the Name
of God, Amen. I Randel Loomes of
Husbands Bosworth in the County of Leicester, Grazier being in a middling state
of Heath but of perfect memory, sound mind and perfect understanding, praise be
to God for the same do for the settling of my Temporal concerns make this my
Last Will and Testament in manner and form following, that is to say First I
will order and direct that all my just debts, funeral expenses and the charge
of the Probate of this my Will shall be paid and satisfied by my Executors
herein after named and bequeath unto my Brother-in- Law, Charles Knight and my
Nephew Thomas Loomes and their Heirs all my several Messuages, Cottages or
Dwelling Houses associative Appuranances together with Homeland and Homeclose
thereunto belonging, situate, lying and being in Husbands Bosworth aforesaid
and now in the normal occupation of myself, Thomas also James Robins and
William Wagstaff to hold the said Messuages, Cottages or Dwellinghouses,
Homestead on Homeclose and premises with their several and respective
Appurenances unto the said Charles Knight and Thomas Loomes and their Heirs
forever Upon Trust that they the said

or the survivors of them and his Heirs do and shall as soon as conveniently after my
decease sell the same for the best price that can be or may be had for the same
and do and shall pay and apply the monies arising by such Sale (after the
deduction of the costs, charges and expenses attending the execution of the
Trust hereby in them reposed and relating thereto) in manner following, that is
to say in Trust out of the monies arising by the said Sale to pay and apply of
my Personal Estate and I do hereby will order and direct that the same after
such Sale shall be deemed and taken as part of my Personal Estate and shall be
paid in the manner herein after mentioned and my will and mind is that the
Rents and Profits with such Sale shall be likewise deemed as part of my
Personal Estate shall be disposed of in
the like manner Provided and I do hereby declare my Will and Mind to be that
the Receipt or Receipts of my said Trustees or the Survivor of them and his
Heirs shall be a sufficient discharge to the Purchase or Purchases of the said
Messuages Cottages or Dwelling houses Lands Hereditament and Premises or any
parts thereof and after such Receipt or Receipts shall be given such Purchaser
or Purchasers his or their Heirs, Executors or Administrators shall be
absolutely discharged of and from the same and they or any of them shall not by
answerable or accountable either in Law or equally for any loses or damages
which shall happen for or by reason of misapplication of the said purchase
money or any part thereof and also I give and bequeath unto my neice Mary
Loomes the sum of five pounds and five shillings and also I give and bequeath
unto my cousins John Loomes of Wilbarton, John Loomes of Bruntinthorpe, Edward
Loomes, Thomas Loomes of Lutterworth, William Loomes of North Kilworth,
Elizabeth, the wife of John Goodman and Ann Loomes of Walcot the several and
respective Sums of one pound and one shilling each and as to all the rest and
remainder of my Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what
nature, kind or quality whatsoever I give devise and bequeath the same between
my sister Mary, the wife of the said Charles Knight and my nephew Thomas
Loomes, the Heirs, Executers or Administraters share and share alike and I do hereby nominate, constitute and appoint the said Charles Knight and Thomas
Loomes Executors of this my Last Will and lastly rebuke all former Will or
Wills by me of any kind heretofore made
and declare this to be my Last Will and Testament in witness where I Randel
Loomes have set my hand and seal this thirteenth day of October in the year of
our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and
One.

Randel Loomes as and for his Last Will and Testament in the presence of us who
have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses to attest, at his request and
in his sight and presence and in the presence of each other.
