Children of Richard and Susanna

     1.  William Baptised on 14th June 1801

     2.  John baptised on 15th May 1803

     3.  Mary baptised on 6th October 1805

     4.  Ann baptised on the 20th December 1807

Ann Stevens married James Draper on 1st April 1828 at St. Peters & Pauls church, Market Overton, Rutland. James is of the parish of East Stoke in the county of Nottingham and Ann is of the parish of Market Overton. One of the witnesses is Mary Stevens, Ann’s sister.

Susanna Stevens died in 1831 aged 55 and was buried on November 24th (this makes her birth year 1776, the same as Richard, both are 22 when they got married)

In the 1841 Census Richard Stevens (60?) is living in Market Overton. Also living with him is his grandson James (12).
Richard’s profession is Shoe Maker.

Taking that Richard was born in 1776 than his age of 60 was wrong in the 1841 census, it should have been 65. This means he was 22 when he got married and not 17 if we believed the census age to be correct.

Thomas (Richard’s father) also appears on the 1841 census aged 85, (which going to his birth year is wrong, it should be 88) he lives in Market Overton. His profession is Shoe Maker, same as his son Richard.

Thomas Stevens, husband of Mary Stevens (deceased) was buried on the 13th August 1845. Thomas would have been 92 when he died.

In the 1851 Census Richard (74) and James (22) are still living in Market Overton, Rutland.
Richards’s occupation is Shoe Marker and James’ is Agricultural Labourer.

I came across a Richard Stevens, who was buried on the 12th January 1860, aged 84, which tallie's in with his birth year of 1776.
